Brominated Flame Retardants: FL-TBBPA & FL-DECA

Tetrabromobisphenol A and decabromodiphenyl ethane for epoxy laminates, ABS, HIPS, and engineering thermoplastics.

Tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA) is the highest-volume brominated flame retardant globally by production tonnage. Flamisol supplies TBBPA and reactive brominated intermediates for epoxy laminate, printed circuit board, ABS, HIPS, and specialty polymer applications under the FL-BR product family.

FL-TBBPA: Tetrabromobisphenol A

CAS 79-94-7. The most widely used brominated FR globally. Reactive monomer that copolymerizes into epoxy resin systems during cure, providing permanent bromine incorporation without migration. Used as both a reactive FR in epoxy laminates (FR-4 PCB substrates) and an additive FR in ABS, HIPS, and PBT thermoplastics.

  • Epoxy powder coatings for electrical applications
  • Brominated epoxy oligomers and polycarbonate blends

FL-DECA: Decabromodiphenyl Ethane (DBDPE)

CAS 84852-53-9. The primary commercial replacement for decabromodiphenyl ether (decaBDE, now restricted). Non-reactive additive FR for polyolefins, HIPS, PET, and technical textiles. Highest bromine content of any commercially significant brominated FR (82.3 wt%).
